Do you often look for an exciting experience while living in your house? Maybe you like to spend good enough time with your spouse which he or she won’t forget?
The Australian architectural firm of Melbourne designed this home, which unlike some traditional design, it will literally attach to the side of a cliff as per their claim. According to aforementioned firm — Modscape, the house isn’t build yet, but their detailed description of design is enough to manifest that the house would be pricey. At this stage, it’s merely a conceptual design. It has a modular design for which Modscape is known for. The four storey home is on the bottom of clifftop-level two car garage which is virtually invisible from afar. The house will have everything a long-lasting couple may pursuit to live comfortably: several bedrooms, a kitchen, a spa and even a barbecue area. It makes it possible to see unrivaled views of the Indian Ocean.

From their site: “The design is a theoretical response to clients who have approached us to explore design options for extreme parcels of coastal land in Australia,”.
“As the design itself would make conventional construction prohibitive, the concept utilises Modscape’s modular design and prefabrication technologies to deliver a series of stacked modules that are anchored into the cliff face using engineered steel pins”.
“Entry to the home is through a carport on the top floor, where a lift vertically connects the user through each of the descending living spaces.”
The house would be made up of five modules connected by a lift and secured to the cliff face using engineered steel pins.

Modscape also run its own Facebook page, which as of writing this has 3000+ likes. In one of their Facebook posts, they mentioned that they made this conceptual design for a couple who asked for a vacation home. The couple owns that piece of extreme land as well, so they wanted it to be built there.
The design of the building receives the attention of media outlets too. Leading architect Maxwell Hutchinson and former president of the Royal Institute of British Architects told the BBC, “All of these things are expensive because the construction industry hates anything unusual.” He didn’t stop there and added, “It would have to be someone with a very, very strong stomach.”

The firm also specializes in creating modular, prefabricated housing through collaboration with different architects and engineers. Its signature of modular design style is from where the firm takes its name.
But what benefits would it give to couples in living on the edge? In this edgy home, a couple living there can see the breezing view of the ocean just after they wake up. Cliff House redefines it “living dangerously”. It is considered a universal fact that calm and a breezing view of the ocean stimulates the sensation of relaxation and helps in building peace between the couple. Having said that, it’s of a debatable value, whether good calming breeze outweighs the terrifying view of the ocean.

Only the time would tell to what degree the project would succeed.
